The Cream Trip – Day in the Bay

[singlepic id=116 w=320 h=240 float=left]Designed for nature lovers and those wanting to see all the highlights of the Bay in one day. This day trip is the most extensive historical cruise offered in the Bay of Islands.

Island deliveries – This cruise follows the path of the original 1927 ‘Cream Trip’ and will take you on a journey back in time as you cruise past the secluded islands of the Bay, delivering essential supplies and mail to island residents.

Dolphin viewing and swimming with the dolphins – See dolphins in their natural environment and if conditions are suitable, try swimming alongside these inquisitive creatures – a once in a lifetime experience. Alternatively try boom-netting.

Natural wonders and spectacular scenery – On arrival at Cape Brett Lighthouse, the farthest post of the ‘original’ mail deliveries, we take you through the stunning Hole in the Rock at Motukokako Island. Take in the majestic Grand Cathedral Cave before heading back into the sheltered waters of the Bay. Your journey also includes a visit to the Black Rocks and Marsden Cross (where in 1814 the first Christian sermon was held in NZ). While we stop for lunch, enjoy the opportunity to visit an island. Relax on the sandy beach or take a short walk.

Cost: From $109 per adult, $54.50 per child

Swim with Dolphins

[singlepic id=114 w=320 h=240 float=left]The Bay of Islands is lucky enough to play host to pods of wild dolphins all year round! And the best way to get up close and personal with them is on the Fullers Bay of Islands Dolphin Adventure.

You’ll see playful dolphins, and can even swim with them! All snorkelling gear and wetsuits are provided. There’s also a hydrophone (underwater microphone) so you can hear dolphins ‘talking’ to one another.

Along the way, visitors often see Orca whales, penguins, seals, magnificent sea birds and more! Plus, your adventure includes a stopover on Urupukapuka island, where you can have a bite in the café, swim in the bluest of waters or just laze on the white-sand beach. A percentage of your ticket goes toward dolphin conservation programmes. Fullers Bay of Islands guarantee you’ll see Dolphins or Whales or you can go on the trip again free!
